Happy Mothers day 2008

This mothers day was fun. It started out at my sisters house where she and I cooked breakfast for roughly 21 people. I love cooking breakfast though. I think it all stems back to my childhood when my dad would usually cook breakfast for us - complete with grits! Anyways, my grandma Knowlden even came with my mom and dad, so it was really nice to have her there. After breakfast and visiting we came home and I took a super long nap of about 3 hours, when I woke, we were getting ready to have a BBQ at the Izatts. We had yummy steak, with the absolute best BBQ beans in the world. The kids were able to throw some water balloons, and even got some Popsicles.

As I watched my children play today i thought how wonderful it is to be a mom. There is nothing else like it in the world. I thought about my grandma and how filled her life is, with the years that she has had watching her children grow, and then watching her grandchildren, and then to her great grandchildren. And how exciting it must be. And then I think about my mom, and how she feels watching her children all of them grown into adults, and they each have their own life, away from them, independent. My life is so full of my children, they are what makes my world revolve. I cant imagine what life would be like without them constantly there (well...except for the times Dustin and I have away from them to go on Destination weddings that is). I look at my children and think how much am I affecting them, when in reality they are probably affecting me more so. I have learned many things from them, from compassion to patience. Children are so special and wonderful, I know I wouldn't be the person that I am today if it weren't for them.

Happy Mothers Daya

So here is more of Paris!

So in Paris we technically had one full day to go around Paris, and we tried to see as many things as we possibly could. The Metro is a huge help with seeing things in Paris, and it saves so much on walking. I am glad for that because I didn't bring the best walking shoes (flip flops)

These first pictures we got off the Trocadero stop and walked small distance to get these shots.

We then got back onto the Metro and stopped by the Sacre Cour, and took a nice steep climb up some many many steps to get here. Near the Sacre Cour there are many shops and artist that sell many things. This is a great place to buy stuff to take home, many nick nacks!

We then asked a local where the Moulin Rouge was, because we saw that it was kinda close to where we were and he helped us find it. We love the Moulin Rouge because it is one of our ALL TIME FAVORITE movies. We have seen it dozens of times. And the other pictures are of Dustin and I at one of the Metro stops. It was really cool, like a giant cross word puzzle.

After Moulin Rouge we went to Montparnasse to a tower that they have to look over the whole city. You can get a 360 unobstructed view of the whole of Paris, needless to say, Dustin LOVED it! Then we went over to the Notre Dame. It is so beautiful, and amazing!

The Next pictures are of the Musse du Louvre, which is a museum and is surrounded by Cour Napoleon, which is a really large building. We walked some ways up to the Arc de Triomphe to see all of the traffic that goes on there, and we walked through the Jardin des Tuileries, which is a beautiful park that has many sculptures and art.

And the rest is of the Eiffel Tower. As we were walking up the park we saw a little stand that sold Drinks, Cotton Candy, and Crepes. (We went back and bought another crepe after we ate the first it was so delicious!!!) The last shots that we took were in Montparnasse where we stayed the rest of the night for quite a few hours waiting for the night shots.

Madison turned 4!!!!

Sunday April 27th was Madison's 4th birthday, and on her birthday we celebrated it by going to Garcia's, with the family, and going to the park (of course after a stop to Toys R Us-Where she picked a Ariel Birthday Baby doll) We had her party on Tuesday April 29th at Layton Park. She had an all Ariel party! She had a yummy birthday cake that had strawberry filling and many fun toys!

He's Walking

So Cameron took his first few steps on April 4th and since then he is getting better and better, now he is at the point of no more crawling, all he wants to do is walk and run around. He is doing so well. These pictures are from Madison's birthday party when he was walking all over.

The rest of the trip + a few Paris pictures

So for the rest of the trip we drove around, and went back to Dublin and did some shopping on Henry Street, and just spent some time together, we didn't take any pictures and we just enjoyed each other. On Wednesday the 23 we went to Paris, and we spent 2 nights there. We saw the Sacre Cour, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Moulin Rouge, and many other sights around Paris. We were so nervous about going to another country where we didn't speak any of the language, but we did very well, and it was AMAZING there!

I will try to blog some more this coming week but I am so jet lagged right now and so tired, I am going to bed. Keep and eye out on Dustin's blog for his touched up amazing photos of our trip!
